George P. Kerkhoff, age 88, of 2418 South 36th Street, Quincy, died on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 12:30 a.m. in Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra, Missouri. He was born on January 4, 1920 in Quincy, Illinois. He was a son of George and Josephine (Wellman) Kerkhoff.

George was a member of the Church of St. Peter.

Before his retirement in 1981, George worked as a machine operator for Moorman Manufacturing Company.

He is survived by:
ONE SISTER: Regina White of Quincy;
Nieces and nephews also survive.

George was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Antoinette Williams, Margaret Waechter, Helen Greenough, and two sisters Mary Ann Kerkhoff in infancy and Josephine Griesbaum. Brothers, Paul Kerkhoff, and Lawrence and Andrew Kerkhoff.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and 10:00 in the Church of St. Peter by Rev. Roy Bauer. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m.. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
