Gary Wayne Thomas

Gary Wayne Thomas, age 62, of 2423 Cedar Street, formerly of 115 Riverview, died on Monday, October 18, 2010 in his home. He was born on November 7, 1947 in Quincy, the son of George Edward and Vivian Florence (LeMay) Thomas. Gary married Linda Marie Swanson on June 12, 1971 in Quincy. She survives.

Gary worked for Gardner Denver as a spray painter. He served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. He was a member and Past Commander of the local VFW #5129. He loved to play euchre on the internet under the name, “Weedlayer”. He enjoyed fishing and outdoor activities.

In addition to his wife, Linda he is survived by:
THREE SONS: Chris Thomas and his wife Monna, Matt Thomas, and Scotty Thomas.
Numerous GRANDCHILDREN: Cadence, Matthew, Precious, Joshua and Christian
Two great grandchildren: Caspian and Azrael
THREE BROTHERS: Rick Thomas, Danny “Boonie” Thomas and his wife Wanda, and MikeThomas and his wife Janet.
ONE SISTER: Mary Thomas Belden
Numerous nieces and nephews including a Special niece: Ashley Belden,
along with many other relatives who also survive.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, a son Jason Thomas and a brother George Patrick Thomas.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Sunset Cemetery. There is no visitation but friends are invited to the graveside services. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 37. Memorials may be made to the family. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
