Gary R. Cain

Gary R. Cain, age 78, of Quincy died on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on January 5, 1944 in Quincy the son of Jesse Ray and Ruth M (Mangold) Cain. Gary married Wanda L. Clinging on August 21, 1963 in Quincy. She survives.

Gary graduated in 1962 from Quincy High School. He began his work career at Motorola, from there he was employed at Quincy Soybean continuing on with ADM as a production foreman until his retirement in 2001.

He loved watching sports and movies on t.v. When his kids were young, he liked coaching their baseball and softball teams.

In addition to his wife, Gary is also survived by his children: Deborah (Jeff) Foster, Teresa (James) Young, Gary Brian (Leslie) Cain, Scott (Samantha) Cain, and Jason Cain.

Grandchildren: Stephanie (Stephen) Swanson, Stephen Foster and his fianceé Katie Keller, Shawn Foster (Emily Bruns), Robby (Sarah) Young, Kyle Young and his fianceé Lyndie Mays, Kaylee Young (Jarrett Bryson), Nicole Cain, Brady Cain, Emiliey Cain and Brandon Cain.
Great grandchildren: Chase Young, Addison Young, and Easton Young;
A brother, Robert Cain of Quincy; nieces and nephews also survive.

Gary was preceded by his parents, two brothers, Ronnie and Denny Cain.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

    So sorry to hear of Gary’s passing! He was a great guy and will be missed by family and friends and all who knew him. Have known him and other family members for many years. Our condolences to Gary’s family!

    I worked with Gary for year. I will always remember him as one of the guys that could make you laugh. My thoughts and prayers to the family. May God bless.
