Gary L.B.Miller

Gary L. B. Miller, age 64 of 2011 Harrison, died on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 6:57 PM in his home. He was born on August 31, 1947 in Quincy, the son of Wesley and Vera (Brassfield) Miller. He married Rayola J. Warner Stambaugh on August 5, 1998. She survives. Mr. Miller was a 1972 graduate of Quincy Senior High School. He was a 21 year veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. Gary loved to travel. He has been to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Washington DC, Mount Rushmore twice and Utah all last year. He also has traveled to Arizona, California and Florida. Gary loved and was very dedicated to his country. Gary also greatly loved his dog and was an avid collector of coins, swords and knives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
NINE CHILDREN: Kimberly Ahamdi of Tuscan, AZ; Jennifer Hintton of Newport News, Virginia, Benjamin Miller, Jr. of Monticello, MO; Heather Peters of QUincy; Lucinda Smith and her husband David, Lisa Massingill; Michael Stambaugh, Larry Stambaugh III and his wife Susan, and April Montgomery and her husband Matt all of Quincy.

Other survivors include 23 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, sisters, cousins and other relatives.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter: Amanda Jean Stambaugh Snyder and 1 grandchild: Brittney Nicole Stambaugh.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Duker & Huagh Funeral Home by Rev. V. Lee Amsler. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery with military rites conducted at the cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.

    Rayola I am sorry to hear of Gary passing. I know he is better off and in no more pain. Thinking of you and your family during this time.
