Gary Hankins

Gary W. Hankins, age 52, of 1038 South 12th, died on Friday, March 8, 2019 in the home of his daughter at 807 South 15th, Quincy, IL He was born on April 4, 1966 in Quincy, Illlinois the son of William & Mary (Fenton) Hankins. He was a graduate of QHS.

Gary ran his own foodtruck, “Hank’s Curbside Canteen”.

Gary enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, cooking and horticulture. He will be remembered for his goofy attitude, spunk, selflessness and his contagious laughter. He also loved the St. Louis Cardinals and the Oakland Raiders.

He is survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: Ashley Oshner and her husband Travis; Kaitlyn Hankins and her significant other: Josh Shannon and Marissa Bauer and her significant other Joe Slee all of Quincy.
FOUR GRANDCHILDREN: Korbin Hankins and Kenidee Oshner; Lillianne Hankins and Declan Shannon.
BROTHERS: Doug Hankins and his wife Pam of Quincy
SISTERS: Charlotte Woosley of Quincy; Penny Musolino and her husband Bob of Quincy, and Diana Ogle and her husband Greg of Geneseo, IL.
SISTERS-IN LAW: Dottie Hankins, Jackie Hankins, and Freda Hankins all of Quincy.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers:
Robert Hankins, Charles Hankins, William Hankins and a brother Terrence Hankins in infancy.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    Man u was such a wonderful man and i was blessed to have u in my life…your friendship meant so much to me…the pain of losing a parent or anyone is so incredible painful…u heloed me so much when i needed to talk about my mom anything….im sending my condelinces to yr family …you definetly made yr mark everywere…your gonna be deeply missed

    Gary was a friend from the school days and we always had many miles between us, but he had this knack to always made me feel like a close friend. We lost a great guy. My condolences to the Family.
