Gary Eugene “Sket” Johnson

Gary Eugene “Sket” Johnson, age 68, of Quincy died on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in his home. He was born on July 20, 1950 in Quincy the son of Robert Green, Sr. and Dorothy Johnson.

Sket graduated from Quincy High School and served his country in the US Army. He was employed by Knapheide as a laborer/machinist.

Sket liked playing chess, checkers and dominos. He had a great sense of humor and was always the jokester. Sket had a beautiful and contagious smile and laugh that could light up the room. He is going to be very missed by his family and dear friends.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy; one daughter, Vonita White of Quincy, and grandchildren and great grandchildren: Cheryl Green of Quincy; Edward (Alicia) Johnson of FL; Valerie (Stefan) Crider of Quincy; Sandra Johnson of FL; Carmen Harris of MN; Craig Johnson (Heather) of Quincy; Carla (Tola) Oyesanya of Quincy; Gary Green MN; Vanessa (Rondld) Tandy of VA. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives survive.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Green, Sr. and brothers, Robert Green, Jr. and Curtis Johnson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in The Crossing at 48th. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 12:00 noon until the time of the services at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association Adams County Branch.
