Gary B. Stephens, age 71, of Quincy, died on Monday, January 4, 2021 in his home. Gary was born on December 23, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan to Mary Stephens. He married Glenda Jackson in 1978 in Detroit. She preceded him in death on March 24, 1998.
Gary attended Culver Stockton College where he studied photography. He was employed as a limousine driver all over the Central Illinois and Missouri areas. Gary enjoyed photography, traveling, spending time with his family and talking and connecting with everyone in the neighborhood.
Survivors include his three children, Antoinette Leatherwood (Ronald), Desmond Underwood and Michael Barber (Helen); 14 grandchildren, Kareem, Krystal, Alonzo (Brittany), Shavonna, Ian Jr., William, Glenda, Ian III, Timothy, Ashton, Denise, Mahogany, Ayanna and Mike Jr.; 4 great grandchildren, Giovonni, Trenton Jr., Aysia and Arayna, as well as a whole host of family and friends who will truly miss him.
In addition to his wife Glenda, Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Stanley Stephens and his son, Ian Barksdale.
Cremation has been accorded to Gary. No formal services are planned for him at this time. The Duker and Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
