Gary Alan Willing

Gary Alan Willing, age 64, of Quincy, passed away unexpectedly on March 15, 2018.
Gary was born on April 6, 1953 and was the son of Robert and Maxine (Hussong) Willing.

Gary was the proud father of Matthew Willing, Michael Asher and Marlee Asher and the proud grandfather of Andre, Noah, Maelyn, Malaya, Milania, and Hiram.

Gary graduated from QHS in 1972 where he excelled in boat racing, hunting, and fishing, none of which were taught at school, so needless to say, he skipped a lot of classes!

He loved all things outdoors and spent many hours sharing those activities and teaching his kids how to love those things as well.

Gary was well known for telling jokes even when they weren’t funny and was quick to help other people. Gary was very good at Jeopardy but mostly loved to have watched the show earlier in the day so that he knew all the answers later.

Mr. Willing worked at Gardner Denver for many years and also for Lincare and Otto Vending. Gary was a member of Grandview Church in Quincy.

Gary is survived by his children, grandchildren, and nieces Morgan and Desiree whom he helped raise and considered his kids. Also surviving is his niece Jamie (Willing) O’Neal, several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Terry Willing.

Visitation is from 12:00-1:00 p.m. with a memorial service starting at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.
A private burial is planned.
Memorials may be made to the family. www.dukerandhaugh.com
