Gail Caster

Gail Jeannette Caster, age 68, of Ursa, IL died on Thursday, January 26, 2017 in her home.

She was born on August 30, 1948, a daughter of Vaughn ‘Jim’ and Vivian ‘Jennel’ (Friday) Tieken. She married Loren L. Caster on December 3, 1966 in Meyer, IL. He survives. Gail was a 1966 graduate of Unity High School in Mendon, IL. She worked at the Quincy Paperbox until its closing, then in retail sales at K-Mart on Harrison Street in Quincy until its closing. She was a homemaker in recent years. Gail is a member of Zion Church in Ursa.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by: TWO SONS: James Caster and his wife Bobbi of Quincy and Gunnar Caster and his wife Kim of Quincy. A DAUGHTER: Helen Vahle of Ursa.
GRANDCHILDREN: Dallas Caster and Zach Caster of Quincy; James Zigunfus of Alabama, Levi Parson and his wife Lindsey of Quincy; Brooke Burkhalter and her husband Bob of Urbana, IL; Josh Benjamin and his wife Victoria of Payson.
5 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN
SIBLINGS: Sherri Powell and her husband Ron of Camp Point, IL; Judy Longcor of Quincy, and Stacie Byars and her husband David of Mulikiteo, WA along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Jimmi Tieken.

Cremation rites have been accorded and Gail’s request was that there not be a visitation of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    I am sorry for your loss.
    Gail and I were best friends our Freshman year at Unity High. We only had that one school year together but I still keep that friendship in my heart still.
