Gabriella “Bella” Hanlin
Gabriella “Bella” Hanlin, age 19, of Quincy, IL went home to her heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, in Quincy. Bella was born on January 28, 2005, in Springfield, IL, a daughter to Matthew and Kristen (Krigbaum) Hanlin.
From an early age Bella developed lifelong bonds with many friends, and never missed an opportunity to make new friends. Bella attended St. Francis Grade School and was a member of the tumbling team and competitive cheer team at Gem City Gymnastics. Her love for cheerleading continued through her entire academic career from Quincy Junior High, Quincy Senior High, through John Wood Community College. Bella graduated from Quincy Senior High with Honors.
After graduation Bella worked at Carter’s Coffee Shop and Kustom Kuts Salon. She recently began on her path to realizing her dream of working in the medical field through her job with Blessing Hospital. Bella’s goal was to pursue a career in pediatric nursing.
Bella’s dedication to hard work was only matched by her zest for life and fierce love and loyalty to her family and friends. Bella loved her siblings with her whole heart. She was a truly devoted Big Sister, affectionately nicknamed “Bell-Bell” and “Sissy” by her siblings.
Bella was an avid fisherwoman who was always happy with a line in the water. She was a talented self-taught seamstress who made many cherished outfits for her younger sisters. Bella was a free spirit who enjoyed doing puzzles, traveling, listening to music, and dancing. When you hear the song “If I Was a Boy,” think of Bella, turn it up sing and dance along with her.
In addition to her parents, Bella is also survived by her siblings: TJ, Morgan, and Brynlee Hanlin; Aunts and uncles: Nikole (Tim) Scheiter, Stacy (Mike Perkins) Hanlin, Stacy (Ed) Glascock, Lance (Brenda) Krigbaum, Jason (Ashley Pryor) Krigbaum; Paternal grandparents John and Terri Hanlin; Paternal great-grandmother: Joan Hanlin; Maternal grandparents: Wes and Donna Krigbaum; and maternal great-grandmother: Margaret Krigbaum. Numerous other family members and friends also survive.
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2024 from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm at The Crossing in Quincy, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the family to be used for memorials in Bella’s honor. The Duker and Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
