Frank Edward Wellman, Sr.
Frank Edward Wellman, Sr., age 91, of the Illinois Veterans Home, formerly of rural Quincy, died on Saturday, June 1, 2013 in the Home. He was born on May 31, 1922 in Adams, IL the son of Frank E. & Katherine (Starman) Wellman. He married Eva Rupert on July 16, 1949. She survives.
Mr. Wellman was a navy veteran of WWII. Mr. Wellman was a truck driver for 36 years for Brinker, then Bellm and later TMX Trucking. He was a Union Member of Teamsters Local #21. He was a member of the Eagles and the VFW. Frank was a participant in the Great River Honor Flight. He loved all of his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frank was thrilled when recently the living family entered five generations.

THREE CHILDREN: Richard DeWeese and his wife Jan of Liberty; Jean Ann Lantz and her husband Bill of Liberty and Frank Edward Wellman, Jr. and his wife Beverly of rural Quincy.
THIRTEEN GRANDCHILDREN: Christine Clayton, Bobbie Ellis, Shelly Ellis, Roy Ellis and his wife Jayme; Vickie Ellis, Anita Peters and her husband Dean; Shane DeWeese and his wife Natasha; Cheyenne DeWeese; Billy Lantz and his wife Mavis; Angie Henderson and her husband Garen; Frankie Wellman, Craig Wellman and Terra Dannelhold and her husband Justin.
NINETEEN GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Gregory Clayton, Torri Ellis, Richard Ellis, Marissa Ellis, Dustin Ellis, Charlie Ellis, Haley Ellis, Lily Ellis; Ryan Gilday, Andrew Gilday, Alex Gilday, Daren Peters; Crickette Peters, Daelin DeWeese, Kenzie DeWeese, Adalyn DeWeese, Zach Lantz, Lantz Henderson, and Gavin Henderson.
SIX GREAT-GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Zoie Clayton, Jade Clayton, Leah Ellis, Mason Gilday, Thalia Peters and Taylin Peters.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Nancy Scheufele, a great-granddaughter: Natasha Ellis, 2 brothers: Alfred and Howard Wellman and 7 sisters: Lucille Vogel, Laura Miller, Bertha Mock, Grace Daniels, Ivy Schnelle, Florence McReynolds, and Annie Bailey.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 11:00 Am in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Quincy Memorial Park with military rites conducted at the cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Eagles or to the Illinois Veterans Home Activities Fund.
Frankie, Bev, and all of the family. We are so sorry to hear about Frank’s passing. He was definitely one of a kind and will be missed!
