Francis “Tom” Kitch
Mr. Francis “Tom” Kitch of 435 Hickory Pointe, Quincy, IL, died at 11:13pm in his home on 08/01/2016.
Born May 4th, 1929 in Steffenville, MO, Tom was the son of Iva Mae & Horace Kitch. He married Mary Frances Brinkley on November 26th 1953 at John Golden’s Parsonage in Hannibal, MO, she survives.
Tom was of the Baptist faith. He graduated from Lewistown High School in Lewistown MO in 1948.
Tom had distinguished careers at Gardner Denver in Quincy, IL and Knapeide Manufacturing in Quincy, IL. He also had a small farm in Steffenville, Mo. He enjoyed working, farming, mushroom hunting, fishing and all family events – especially family reunions.
Surviving are two sons, David Kitch and his wife Joyce of Maywood, MO and Mike Kitch of Lewistown, MO and daughter, Marcia Greifer and husband Curt of Naperville, IL; Seven Grandchildren and Six Great Grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by a sister, Myrtle and brothers Vincent and Harlan.
Tom requested a cremation and no visitation, memorial or funeral service. A celebration of Tom’s life with his immediate family took place during his Hospice care. As a loving and final note, all he requested was that everyone cherish each and every day and savor all of life’s memories of family and friends. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
