Frances E. Barry

Frances Eileen Barry, age 90, of Good Samaritan Home, formerly of rural Liberty and 832 Christopher Court, Quincy, passed away Wednesday morning October 10, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was born February 17, 1922 in Louisiana, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Grote) Runser. She married Virgil Barry in St Mary’s Catholic Church in Quincy on April 12, 1947.

Frances attended Holy Rosary, St. Mary’s and Irving Schools. She worked briefly at Brower Mfg. before becoming a full time wife and homemaker. She and her husband farmed for nearly 40 years in the Liberty, Illinois area and then retired to Quincy. They celebrated 61 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on July 27, 2008.

She was a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church.

Linda Elbus and her husband Carl, of Fowler;
Dennis Barry and his wife Marcia, of Liberty;
Michael Barry and his wife Janice, of Fowler;
Kathleen Bracy and her husband Gary, of Quincy;
Cynthia Moss and her husband Daniel, of Fowler.
FIFTEEN GRANDCHILDREN:
Derrick (Lisa) Elbus, Dr. Keisha (Kent) Hawkins, Nathan Elbus;
Kirk (Chris) Barry, Kory (Caron) Barry, Kristen (Monte) Brink, Kaylan (Ben) Drebes;
Jason (Anita) Barry, Dawn (Mathew) Davis, and Chad (Sarah) Barry;
Brittany Bracy, Brooke Bracy;
Danielle Moss, Dalton Moss, and Daphne Moss.
ELEVEN GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN:
Karlie Barry, Cadie Barry, Carter Brink, Makayla Drebes, Whitney Murphy, Kylee Barry, Saylor Barry, Jacob Davis, McKenna Davis, Natalee Barry, and Ryland Barry.
ONE BROTHER: Louis Runser
Numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other relatives survive.

In addition to her husband, Virgil, and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Runser, one sister Pauline Vincent, and one grandchild Kryshelle Renee Elbus.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. Interment will be Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Parish Center.
