Frances Ann Musolino

Frances Ann Musolino age 81, of Quincy, IL was entrusted to the care of our Lord’s hands on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 11:00 p.m. in Blessing Hospital with family at bedside. Frances was born September 4, 1936 in Quincy, a daughter of Ferdinand and Florine (Metzger) Krogman. She married the love of her life, Dr. Joseph L. Musolino on June 28, 1958 in Quincy’s St.John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church. Joseph preceded her in death on July 4, 2005.
Frances teamed up with her husband Dr. Joe for many years as a Veterinary Assistant at his practice, Adams Area Animal Clinic. Fran had also worked as a bank teller at Broadway Bank and in ticket sales at the Belasco Theatre.
She attended St. John’s elementary school. Frances was a proud 1954 graduate of Notre Dame High School and still enjoyed rolling out the barrel with her pals Suzie Longo and Carol Clow. She also enjoyed attending her 60th class reunion.
A longtime member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Frances participated in the Adoration Chapel since its inception. As part of the bereavement committee she enjoyed preparing casserole dishes.
She was a member of the St.Peter PTO, a Den Mother with the Boy Scouts, assistant leader for the Girl Scouts and an assistant teacher for PSR.
Francie was an avid bridge player with her ladies lunch bridge club.
Fran was also a member of Sheridan Swim Club and was a Booster Parent for the Swim Team. She enjoyed boating and water-skiing. Fran loved playing tennis. For many years both she and Dr. Joe were members of both the Quincy Racquet Club and the Elks Club.
Fran was very devoted to her family, and made sure that her children had a joyful childhood and attended college. She often chauffeured cheerleaders to practices and games, swimmers to swim meets and athletes to their events. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and attending their sporting and musical performances. She volunteered at Madison School helping children improve their reading.
A skilled seamstress, she won the Crepe Paper Ball Gown Contest that was once a part of the Dogwood Parade Festival. She had an innate sense of interior design and was often called upon by friends to help them with her style advice. Fran enjoyed adventuresome trips to the Pacific North West to visit their Sammamish, WA grandchildren. Florida was often a favorite destination to visit family and spend time at her favorite beach, Siesta Key.
Frances was a warrior of Parkinsons Disease living out her final days with her grandchildren as her inspiration.
Survivors include her children, three sons: Anthony “Tony” J. Musolino of Florida; Christopher J. Musolino (Natalie) of Cincinnati, OH; and Adam D. Musolino of Ft. Myers, FL. Three daughters: Lisa Jo Scholz and her husband Tom of Ellenton, FL; and Dr. Gina Maria Musolino of Florida; and Renee F. Blattner and her husband Jeffrey L. of Quincy. Seven grandchildren: Allison Musolino of Seattle, WA, Nicholas Musolino of San Louis Obispo, CA; and Katherine A. and David C. Musolino of Cincinnati, OH; Christian, Brenden, and Adrian Blattner all of Quincy. A sister, Dorothy Doellman and her husband Ray of Quincy; and a brother, Alan Krogman and his wife Krethy of Quincy. Brother-in-law, James Delaney of Altamont Springs, FL; Two Goddaughters, Susan (Doellman) Bucz of Elk Grove Village, IL and Robin (Krogman)Meier of Camp Point, A Godson, Randy Maddox of Palmyra, MO; and many other nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph, a brother Robert Krogman and a sister and brother-in-law: Helen and Paddle Maddox.
Funeral services celebrating Frances’ life and passion for living will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 11:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Peter by Monsignor Leo Enlow. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Duker & Haugh funeral home. The family wishes to thank the kindness of her many care providers.     Please accept our condolences on the passing of Fran. It was always a pleasure visiting with her on the tennis court, at St. Peter and at Arbors. Fran was a true Christian lady with a ready smile and kind words.

    We regret not being present at Fran’s services since we are visiting our daughter in New Hampshire.
