Floyd Ralph Wiewel
Floyd Ralph Wiewel, age 80, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 in his home. He was born on May 8, 1941 in Quincy, Illinois the son of Oliver and Agnes (Dieker) Wiewel. He served in the United States Army. He married Sharon Killday on November 12, 1966. She survives. Mr. Wiewel was a machinist for Quincy Compressor for many years until his retirement.
Floyd was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Floyd loved being outside in nature – in particular he enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels in his backyard and made sure the neighborhood cats had food. He enjoyed hunting deer with his brothers and nephews.
He was an avid Cardinal fan and enjoyed watching every game and going to games in St. Louis. A favorite family time was the rivalry games between the Cardinals and Cubs that he attended with his wife, kids, grandkids and in-laws at Busch Stadium and Wrigley Field.
In recent years, he took up shooting pool at Twin Oaks with family and friends.

FOUR CHILDREN: Dana MacMillan and her husband Mickey of Chicago, Illinois; Janine Harper and her husband Rob of Colorado Springs, CO; Chandra Wiewel and her husband Greg Folkert of St. Louis, MO; and Daniel Wiewel and his wife Lisa of Skokie, IL.
GRANDCHILDREN: James MacMillan, Keira MacMillan, Oliver Harper, Brynn Harper, Madelyn Folkert, Spencer Folkert, Sydney Folkert, Caitlin Wiewel and Cameron Wiewel.
SIBLINGS: August “Dick” Wiewel and his wife, Dee; Dale Wiewel and his wife, Karla; Mark Wiewel and his wife, Paulette; Ted Wiewel and his wife, Cathy; Brad Wiewel; Bruce Wiewel; Betty McCoy; Phyllis Metzger; Theresa Ehrhardt and her husband, Spike.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, a grandchild Ava Wiewel and siblings: Larry, Mike and Ed Wiewel.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 9:30 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday evening at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Lung Cancer Foundation of America https://lcfamerica.org/about/ The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dear Wiewel Family,
I had the pleasure of meeting Floyd when he would visit his grandchildren Oliver and Brynn in California! I loved his rich, deep voice, his stark white head of hair, his twinkling blue eyes and his gentle and easygoing nature.
