Florence R. Patterson

Florence R. Patterson, age 92, of Sunset Home, formerly of 4712 North 24th Street, Quincy died on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at 2:45 a.m. in the Home. She was born on October 9, 1917 in Quincy, the daughter of Albert & Edith (Willing) Broemmer. Florence attended St. Francis Solanus Grade School. She married James Patterson on February 18, 1939 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hannibal, MO. He preceeded her in death on September 14, 1985. Florence was employed by Quincy Paper Box until her retirement in 1969. She enjoyed camping & fishing.

Florence is survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: Phyllis Maxwell and her husband Ralph of Quincy, Floyd Patterson and his wife Lynda of Liberty; and Michael Patterson and his wife Prudy of Quincy.
SEVEN GRANDCHILDREN: James W. Fuhrman, Cindy Cook and her husband Russell, Steve Patterson and his wife Jennifer, Susie Westerman and her husband Randy, Greg Patterson, Chris Altmix and her husband Greg and Lisa Muench and her husband John.
SIXTEEN GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Emily, Sarah, and Samuel Cook, Jeffrey, Mark, Kelli, and Andrew Patterson; Parker, Paige, and Claire Westerman, Michael Patterson; Alex and Jordan Altmix; Samantha, Amanda, Julia Muench
TWO BROTHERS: Clarence Broemmer and George Broemmer
TWO SISTERS: Stella Maxwell and Clara Tucker
Numerous nieces, nephew and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband James, Florence was preceeded in death by her parents, two brothers Robert and Albert Broemmer, a sister Marie Upchurch, and a Great Grandchild, Bobby Joe Fuhrman.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:30 AM in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemtery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening at the funeral home from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a parish prayer service at 5:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to The Haven at Sunset Home and St. Francis School.
