Evelyn Lucille Mast, age 91, of 1301 College Ave, died on Saturday, November 17, 2012 in the home of her daughter and son-in-law. She was born on September 4, 1921 in Keokuk, Iowa the daughter of Ross & Inez (Harter) Findley. She married Carl B. Mast, the long time Adams County circuit clerk. They were married on February 15, 1940 in Ft. Madison, Iowa, where she had grown up. Evelyn was a graduate of Ft. Madison Public High School and attended the St. Mary Hospital Nursing Program. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

Evelyn was a doting grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an avid reader, knitter and crocheter. She loved cooking, baking, canning and gardening. She and Carl enjoyed traveling and camping in nearly every US State, Canada and Mexico.

She is survived by:
TWO DAUGHTERS: Carol Davis and her husband Nick of Quincy and Beverly Mast of Quincy.
FOUR GRANDCHILDREN: Craig Davis and his wife Nickie; Angela Heffernan and her husband Will; Vincent Davis; and Glenn Mast.
EIGHT GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Cooper, Parker, and Elizabeth Davis, Brighid, Liam, Declan and Margaret Heffernan and Gabriella Davis.
A BROTHER: Jack Findley of Ft. Madison along with nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents.

A Memorial mass will be held on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Catholic Church. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held at St. Francis Church on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the services. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or to St. Francis Catholic Church. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
