Evelyn Lorene Matticks, age 92, of the Sunset Home, formerly of 441 Poinsettia, died on Friday, November 3, 2017 in the Home. She was born on September 26, 1925 in Bolivar, MO the daughter of Raymond V. & Nina (Jarmin) Payton. Evelyn was a graduate of Quincy Senior High School and the Gem City Business College. She married Fred L. Matticks on June 4, 1947 in St. Francis Catholic Church in Quincy. He survives. Evelyn was a secretary for the law firm of Loos and Schnack and a title examiner for Adams County Abstract and Title. She retired in 1990.

Evelyn was a member of the Church of St. Peter.

Evelyn loved doing and creating floral arrangements. She also enjoyed her bowling league, playing cards, shopping and bingo.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by:
FIVE CHILDREN: Diana (Art) Winston of Orlando, FL; Linda (Stephen) Gregory of Avon, IL; Dan (Stephanie) Matticks of San Diego, CA; Karen (Richard) Wagner of Quincy, IL; and Dr. Rod (Maria) Matticks of Springfield, IL.
TEN GRANDCHILDREN: Arthur Ray (Haley) Winston; Derek Winston; Ken (Claire) Gregory; Andrew (Julie) Gregory; Brandon Matticks; Rick (Beth) Wagner II; Adam (Melissa) Wagner; Jeremy Matticks; Trevor Matticks; Brianna (Matt) Dondanville.
8 Great-Grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister: Delsena “Dusty” Lee Payton.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 10:00 at the Church of St. Peter. Memorials may be made to the Sunset Home. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements
