Evelyn Joan Stickler

Evelyn Joan Stickler, age 60, of 709 S. 22nd Street died on Sunday, August 30, 2009 in her home. She was born on December 23, 1948 in Quincy, Illinois, a daughter of Leland Stiefle and Etta Beghtol. She married Richard A. Stickler on December 5, 1969 in Quincy, Illinois. He survives.

Evelyn worked as a hairdresser in her home. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping, traveling, and especially her dog, Squirt.

Survivors include:
TWO DAUGHTERS: Linda Shipley and her husband Steven of Waverly, IL, and Tammy Steeples and her husband Jim of Quincy;
EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN: Angela Williams, Casey Jackson, Jennifer Stickler, Adam Wiechert, Jessey Steeples, Tylere Gibson, Jeff Steeples, and Colton Shipley;
FIVE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Haley, Madilynn, Jordan, Jayla, and Keaton;
ONE BROTHER: Donald Smith and his wife Wanda of Quincy;
ONE SISTER-IN-LAW: Chris Smith of Kinderhook;

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Larry & David Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
