Eva H. Wellman
Eva H. Wellman, age 98, of the Illinois Veterans Home, formerly of rural Quincy, died on Sunday, April 14, 2024 in the home. She was born on June 8, 1925 in Quincy, the daughter of Harry and Sarah (Robertson) Rupert. She married Frank Edward Wellman, Sr., on July 16, 1949. He preceded her in death on June 1, 2013.
Eva was homemaker who greatly loved her large family.
Eva is survived by:
TWO CHILDREN: Jean Ann Lantz and her husband Bill of Liberty and Frank Edward Wellman, Jr. and his wife Beverly of rural Quincy.
DAUGHTER-IN-LAW: Jan DeWeese of Liberty.
THIRTEEN GRANDCHILDREN: Christine Clayton, Bobbie Ellis, Michelle “Shelly” Ellis, Roy Ellis and his wife Jayme; Vickie Ellis, Aneta Peters and her husband Dean; Shane DeWeese and his wife Natosha; Cheyenne DeWeese; Bill Lantz, Jr. and his wife Mavis; Angela “Angie” Henderson and her husband Garen; Frankie Wellman and his wife Christy, Craig Wellman and his wife Megan and Terra Dannehold and her husband Justin. Twenty-six great-grandchildren, twenty-one great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Nancy Scheufele, a son Richard DeWeese, a great-granddaughter: Natasha Ellis, and siblings, Ernest “Buddy” Rupert and Ann Ford.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 1:30 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home from 12:30 PM until the time of the services at 1:30 PM. Memorials may be made to Illinois Veterans Home Activities Fund.
Frankie and family so sorry for your loss,you know that she is with poppa Frank and all those she did loved. I always loved caring for them both she tell ya the way to take care of Frank then you did step by step for her she wanted this way or she would show you. I will always remember them. They definitely made you laugh.loved them both.
