Eugenie “Jeanie” Tournear

Eugenie “Jeanie” Tournear age 60, of Lakeshore Hills, Fowler, IL died on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 5:55 p.m. in Blessing Hospital. Jeanie was born March 6, 1957 in Quincy, a daughter of Orville Eugene and Rosemary Margaret (Tuxford) Dameron. She married Leonard Tournear on February 14, 1997 at Faith Assembly of God Church in Quincy, and he survives.

Jeanie was a cabinet-maker at Huck Fixture for many years, until they closed. Prior to that she had worked as a CNA.

Jeanie had attended Riverside Community Church. She was mechanically gifted, she could fix just about anything, cars, appliances and plumbing fixtures. She started working at the age of 14, and was a hard-worker throughout her life. Jeanie loved to fish, and had even worked as a commercial fisherman. In her younger years, she played baseball and on bowling leagues, and had a collection of trophies for her athletic abilities. Jeanie had a generous heart, and cared deeply for others.

In addition to her husband Leonard, survivors include her mother, Rosemary Dameron of Quincy; her sons, Vernon “V.J.” Norfolk, Jr. of Missouri;
Andy Tournear of Fowler and Leonard (Annie) Tournear of Quincy;
her daughters, Lindsey (Terry) Snook of Quincy and Laura Tournear McCully of Bevier, MO.
Her sisters, Julie Bruce of Hannibal; Mary Bryant of Quincy and Sue (Michael) Behrens also of Quincy. Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law also survive.

She was preceded in death by her Father, a daughter, Robin Munch and her children, Angela, Philip, and Nathan Munch; and her son, Thomas W. Norfolk.

Funeral Services: Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. V. Lee Amsler. Interment: Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation: Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh. Memorials: are suggested to the Andy Tournear Education Fund. www.dukerandhaugh.com
