Bob and the rest of the family my condolences on your loss. Fond memories of the seminary days.
To all of Gene and Betty’s kids, I offer my heartfelt condolences. You and your parents were the best neighbors! It’s always hard to lose a parent, but hopefully the memories of the wonderful life they provided for you will help to ease the pain. We were all so fortunate to grow up in the era and in the great neighborhood that we did! My prayers are with all of you.

We were neighbors for 16 years on College. You couldn’t find a nicer couple than the Trines. Prayers for the family.
Thinking of you, Jim and Connie. I always had a great time golfing with your father. My sympathies.

Bill and family,
I was saddened to read the news of your father’s passing. What a great patriarch he was for your family. I will pray that God gives you the strength you need in the tough moments ahead, and that HE will fill your hearts and souls with only the great memories that you shared with Gene. God Bless.
Lovely to see the names of so many family members. What a legacy Great Uncle Gene leaves behind. My own daughter has her middle name Emma after their mother. I always loved seeing all my great aunts and uncles together with Grandpa Norb on the warm summer vacations to Iowa. Amazing to see his service in WWII. He will be greatly missed.
Having lived on the West Coast since 1968, unfortunately I had few opportunities to visit with Uncle Gene. But in the past couple days oddly I have experienced his closeness. I think about how faith and family were so important to him. I think about how much my Dad Norb, his brother, counted on connecting with Uncle Gene during my Dad’s struggle with dementia. I think about his welcoming warm smile and gentle soul. I think about the strong Trine legs and abundant golf games. I think about how the Trine siblings loved to gather, and how they set an example of how families care for each other. May we continue that tradition. My heart will be present as you celebrate a life well lived. Thank you, godfather, Uncle Gene.
My condolences to the family. Gene was a great neighbor to us. I believe he was the last of the original homeowners on College Ave. Keeping you in my prayers.
Bill, Sue and Family – I am sorry for your loss – I wish you peace
