Eugene E. “Gene” Schlueter
Eugene E. “Gene” Schlueter, age 70, of Perry, MO and Quincy, IL, died on Thursday, October 18, 2012 in his home in Perry, MO. He was born on January 24, 1942 in Quincy, IL the son of Gene E. & Martha Louise (Conrad) Schlueter.
He married Melody Sparrow on February 22, 1999 in Las Vegas, NV. She preceded him in death on January 25, 2008.
Mr. Schlueter was an antique dealer, a true American Picker. He also worked at Jerry’s Wholesale and Dixie Sales over the years.
His other interests included guitars, cap guns, Cowboy Memorabilia and fishing.
He is survived by:
TWO SONS: Brad Schlueter and his wife Jaci of Chicago and Mark Schlueter and his wife Hollie of Galesburg, IL
A STEP DAUGHTER: Dianna Parrish of Quincy
HIS SIGNIFICANT OTHER: Cindy Naber of Quincy
FIVE GRANDCHILDREN: Strawberry, Elijah, Lorelei, Heaven and Chase
NINE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN
SIX SIBLINGS: Randy, Jerry, John Wayne, David, Martha “Potsy” and Cecilia.
In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 1:00 p. m. in the River of Life Christian Church. A gathering of friends and family will take place immediately after the service at the church. Inurnment will be held at a later time in Greenmount Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Circle of Love, 4804 Innsbruck Dr., Rockford, IL 61114 or Children’s Services in South Africa. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
