Ethel M. Altmix, age 94, of the Sunset Home, formerly of 2019 Adams, died on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 3:30 PM in the home. She was born on May 7, 1917 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, the daughter of Charles & Edith (Baker) Wood. She married Leo J. Altmix on November 26, 1942. He preceded her in death on February 18, 2003.

Ethel was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a former long-time member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

She is survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: Annita Wasmundt of Quincy, Raymond Altmix and his wife Peggy of Marion, IL; Ruth Sweezer and her husband Alan of Quincy.
DAUGHTER-IN-LAW: Verlaine Altmix of Arnold, MO.
Nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Roger Altmix and Ronald Altmix and two brothers; Everett Wood and Fred Wood.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 9:30 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:00 in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Msgr. Michael Kuse. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 8:30 until the time of the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sunset Home.
