Esther M. Baker

Esther M. Baker, 100, of Quincy died Sunday October 15, 2017 in St. Vincent’s Home.
Esther was born June 26, 1917 in Quincy, the daughter of Charles E. and Stella M (Niehaus) Baker.

She attended St. Rose School and was a former member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and currently a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. She retired from Ely and Walker Packing Corporation.

She was a member of the Altar Society and enjoyed bowling and traveling. Esther was loved by her family, and she treasured the time she spent with them.

Esther is survived by her nieces, Barbara Kaiser and Carol Clow; nephews, Charles Bunte and Kenneth Bunte. She is also survived by ten great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ruth Baker and Irene Bunte.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at St. Francis. Memorials may be made to Ladies of Charity or St. Francis Catholic Church.
Funeral arrangements are with the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.

    I knew Esther many years from St. Rose parish and her family traded with our grocery store for years. I know she was too old to make the steps at the church since it reopened, she wanted to see the interior very bad she said. God Rest her soul.
