Esther B. Hayes, age 68, of 2515 Steven Drive, Quincy, died on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 7:23 p.m. in the Emergency Room at Blessing Hospital. She was born on January 6, 1943 in Winnsboro, South Carolina, a daughter of Doc and Hazel (Beasley) Driggers. She first married Robert L. Kroeger. She later married Donald E. Hayes. He preceded her in death on January 1995.

Esther was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She loved television cooking shows and her pets. She also enjoyed her grandchildren.

Survivors include:
THREE DAUGHTERS: Robin Berry of Savannah, GA, April Almazan and her husband Abraham of Quincy, and Nicole Williams of Las Vegas, NV;
GRANDCHILDREN: Robert Will and Natasha Will, Brittney Berry, Shannon Robertson, Kourtni Shankland, Chandler Shankland, and Clarissa Shankland;
THREE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: LaDante Robertson, Austin Vogel, and Lily Louann Will. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, one sister, and one grandson, Corbin Shankland.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 with prayers at 9:00 a.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and a funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Peter. The Rev. Roy Bauer to officiate. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a parish prayer service at 6:00 p.m.
