Emma Louise Fleer

Emma Louise Fleer, age 88, of 2700 Joyce Road, died on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 in the Sunset Home. She was born on April 16, 1926 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of Robert & Clarcy (Myers) Berndanner. Emma was a graduate of Quincy Senior High School. She married Junior Fleer on January 25, 1947 in Quincy, IL. He survives. Mrs. Fleer was a homemaker, raising her family. Mrs. Fleer was a volunteer at the Blessing Hospital Tea Room for many years. Throughout the years she also enjoyed camping, quilting, crocheting, ceramics, and antiquing. She enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to especially thank Mrs. Fleer’s longtime caregiver, Jean, for the wonderful care she always provided.

In addition to her husband, Junior, Emma is also survived by:
THREE CHILDREN:Steven Fleer and his wife Ida of Quincy; Marty Fleer and his wife Vicky of Quincy and Nancy Harris and her husband Michael of Pawnee, IL.
SEVEN GRANDCHILDREN: Brian Fleer and his significant other Amy Franken; Jason Fleer and his wife Danielle and Stacy Fleer; Kyle Fleer and his significant other Crystal, Amber Martin and her husband Billy; Brandon Reese and his wife Kristen and Jordon Harris.
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Morgan Fleer; Jacob Fleer and Emma Rose Fleer; Lily Fleer, Tatum and Charli Martin; Connor Reese.
SPECIAL FAMILY MEMBERS: Bridget Ormond and her husband Lance along with their children; Camdyen and Carter Ormond.
SISTERS: Evelyn Schutte; Loretta Eberhardt; and Beverly Peters and her husband Lowell.
SISTER-IN-LAW: Milicent Fleer

Emma was preceded in death by her parents, a brother: Raymond “Sonny” Berndanner and brothers-in-law: Ernest “Ernie” Schutte and Robert Eberhardt.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home, by the Rev. Timothy White. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Trinity United Church of Christ. www.dukerandaugh.com
