Elwood “Woody” Willer

Elwood “Woody” Willer, age 89, of Camp Point, IL, formerly of Quincy, died on December 5, 2013 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on January 29, 1924 in Quincy, a son of Ralph & Alice (Price) Willer. He married Eleanor Schreacke on December 27, 1948 in St. Francis Catholic Church. She survives.

Woody served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and was a member of Austin’s Army at St. Francis.

He worked as an electrician for Quincy College until his retirement. He also owned and operated Woody’s Saw Shop behind his home.

Woody and Eleanor enjoyed traveling in their camper especially to visit their grandchildren in Florida. They were members of the Q-City Squares square dance club and enjoyed many years square dancing.

Daughter-In-Law, Jody Stille and her husband Richard of Payson, IL
Two Grandchildren, Scott Willer of Payson, IL and Marcia Whitehead of FL
Two Step-Grandchildren, Richard A. Stille & Tammie Stille
Great Grandchildren, Amber Whitehead, Kyle Claxton, Shyann Willer
Step-Great-Granddaughter, Alyssa Stille
One brother, Ted (Pat) Willer
Three sisters, Pat Grave, Mary Alice Miles and Charlotte (Bob) Siebers
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Kenneth Willer, a brother Ralph Willer, Jr. and a sister Marcia Buckner.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There is no visitation but family and friends are invited to the services. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    Eleanor…I will always think of you and Woody as the dearest of friends and will never forget the good times during the Square Dancing years. I consider Woody one of the top 5 people I have known as a true role model and a genuine good person. May God take him into his arms and re-unite him with Kenny. Dale & Jenny Hilgenbrinck

    Eleanor,
    I am so sorry to hear of Woody’s passing. You both were a blessing to have gotten to know while working at the home. Please know you and your family have my deepest sympathy.
