Elvie Alexander

Elvie Alexander, age 75, of Villa Rica, GA, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at University Hospital, Columbia, MO. She was born on February 18, 1946 in Temple, GA the daughter of Rubin and Willer Mae (McClure) Cooper. She married Elbert Alexander and he survives.

Elvie graduated as the salutatorian of her 1964 class at Matthews Consolidated School in Dallas, GA. She later married Elbert Alexander of Hiram, GA.

She was employed at the GM Assembly Plant in Doraville, GA. She served as a faithful team member of the paint department for 30 plus years and later retired in the mid 2000’s.

Elvie was an active member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Hiram, GA. She served on the Mother’s Board, Usher’s Board and was the Lead for the Kitchen Committee for many years. She attended church faithfully up until her health declined

Elvie was well known for cooking and entertaining in her healthier years. She hosted many Fish Fry’s and even catered many events. She enjoyed planting flowers, antiquing and traveling. She had many antique booths and loved yard sales on the weekends.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory, three children: Tabitha (Terrell) McMullen of Villa Rica, GA, Marlena Alexander of Hiram, GA and Byron Alexander of Hiram, GA; grandchildren: Chazmonne (Lisa) Fisher-Sanders of Quincy and Elvie-Marie McMullen of Villa Rica, GA; siblings: Rufus (Geneva) Cooper of Dallas, GA and Willene (Moses) Holmes of Hephzibah, GA. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Elvie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Etta Mae Webb and Willie Lee Clonts; brothers: Rafus Cooper, Rubin Cooper, Jr. and a brother, James in infancy.
She also leaves two dear friends: Agnes Appleby and Esther Sims, sisters-in-law, Polly Cooper and Bonnette McClendon.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
