Ellen V. Hermann
Ellen V. Hermann, age 94, of the Bradford Villa, formerly of Hamann Lane, Quincy, died on Thursday, April 10, 2014 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on November 18, 1919 in Quincy the daughter of Lawrence & Mary (Talken) Costigan. She married Richard Hermann on September 21, 1946 in St. Francis Catholic Church in Quincy, Illinois. He preceded her in death.
Ellen was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and was a former volunteer at the St. Vincent Home.
She is survived by:
A SON: Steve Hermann and his wife Regina of Webster Grove, MO and
FOUR DAUGHTERS: Janet McKnight of Lee’s Summit, MO; Mary Ann Millican of Seattle, WA; Chris Churchwell and her husband Steve of McAlester, OK; Kathy Rand and her husband William of Lee’s Summit, MO.
11 GRANDCHILDREN: Erin & Ryan McKnight, Liz Hermann & Kate Hermann-Stone and her husband Dan, Zach Millican and his wife Rebecca, Laura Millican Hollingsworth and her husband Tawon, Brian Churchwell and his wife Candice, Jessica Churchwell, Lynn Trainor and her husband Chris, Isabell and Augustus Rand.
4 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Zach Hermann, Jurrien Hollingsworth, Jaxon Hollingsworth and Evelyn Millican.
ONE SISTER: Florence Southern of Chula Vista, CA
Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
In addition to her husband, Ellen was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother Lawrence Costigan, a sister Margaret Costigan, and a son-in-law Robert McKnight.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 11:30 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Grade School or to Quincy Notre Dame High School. www.dukerandhaugh.com

Steve and family, The members of Regina’s discussion group send their condolences and prayers for all of you. it is really hard to accept your Mom dying I am sure. but she is at peace, and with the hope of life everlasting. Hope you are feeling the presence of God yourselves as you go through the grief and joy.
