Ella Oliver

Ella Oliver age 80, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, formerly of Quincy, died on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in Sellersburg, Indiana. Ella was born January 4, 1935 in Quincy, a daughter of Charles H. and Gladys (Johnson) Oliver.

She had worked as a surgical technician at Blessing Hospital, retiring after more than 40 years of service.

Ella was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, where she enjoyed worshiping and playing piano. She liked playing BINGO and loved her trips to Vegas.

Survivors include her three sons, Curtis Oliver of Quincy; Gene Oliver and his wife Mary of Jeffersonville, IN; Dean Oliver of New Albany, IN; two daughters, Glenda Oliver and Denise Oliver, both of Oklahoma City, OK. Her brother, Johnny Oliver of Quincy, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.

Ella was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Sidney Oliver and a sister, Royce Ann Hickman.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 12 Noon in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by the Rev. James Hailey. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at Noon. Memorials are suggested to Bethel A.M.E. Church.
