Elizabeth “Joan” Altgilbers age 84, of Quincy died on Sunday, November 6, 2016 in the Sycamore Healthcare Centre. Joan was born March 31, 1932 in Clayton, IL a daughter of Droy Alvin and Anna Lenora (Norton) Wear. She was married to Richard Altgilbers on April 24, 1948 in Quincy, IL.

Joan was primarily a homemaker and had worked various jobs outside of the home. She was a member of Faith Christian Church.

Joan was a former member of the Eagles, and North Side Boat Club. Her interests included traveling throughout the U.S.A. She also enjoyed line-dancing, taking care of her home and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Rocky Altgilbers, Sr. and his wife Tracey; Rodney Altgilbers and his wife Sheila all of Quincy; Numerous grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Kevin and R.J. Altgilbers, three sisters, Virginia Stone, Betty Jonte’ and June Kalhotka.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Faith Christian Church.
