Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Fetter

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Fetter, age 84, of 2820 Lincoln Hill Court N.W., Quincy, died on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on May 22, 1926 in Quincy. She was a daughter of William T. and Eustachia C. Smith-Duker Lechtenberg. She married Joseph Edgar Fetter on April 23, 1949 in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Quincy. He survives.

Betty was a graduate of St. Boniface Catholic School, Notre Dame High School, Quincy College and St. John’s School of Medical Technology. Before her retirement she was employed as a registered Medical Technologist at Physicians & Surgeon’s Clinic & Quincy Clinic. Betty was a member of the Church of St. Peter. Betty always loved her gardens and was a certified Master Gardener.

In addition to her husband of 61 years, survivors also include:
William F. Fetter and his wife Louise of Dothan, AL, Mary E. Norris and her husband William of Dublin, TX, Dr. John E. Fetter and his wife Deborah of Houston, TX, Catherine A. Fetter of St. Louis, MO and Paul F. Fetter and his wife Carol of Webster, N.Y.
TEN GRANDCHILDREN: William Fetter, Elizabeth Coyne and her husband William, Catherine Rowand and her husband Zachary, Alexander Norris and his wife Chasite, Nicholas Fetter, James Fetter, Anna Fetter, Sarah Fetter, Megan Fetter and Jessica Fetter.
FOUR GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Kyra and Rylee Norris and Gavin and Dylan Coyne.
ONE BROTHER: Brother Andre Lechtenberg, C.S.C., of Notre Dame, IN;
ONE SISTER-IN-LAW: Pauline Ostermiller and her husband Robert;
ONE NEPHEW: Gary Ostermiller & ONE NIECE: Paula Niemann

Betty was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 9:30 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:00 in the Church of St. Peter by Father Roy Bauer. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a prayer service at 5:30 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Father Roy Bauer Scholarship Fund at Quincy Notre Dame or to the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
