Elizabeth Ann Harman

Elizabeth Ann Harman age 90, of Quincy passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 3:10 a.m. in St. Vincent’s Home. Elizabeth was born in Quincy on April 21, 1931, the daughter of Lawrence and Corrolla (Waters) Terwelp. She married Alvin B. “Pete” Harman in the former St. Boniface Catholic Church on January 10, 1953. The couple met when they both worked in the Western Catholic Union Building.

Pete preceded Elizabeth in death on September 12, 2010.

Elizabeth was a homemaker, she also worked at the JC Penney stores, uptown and later at the Quincy Mall. She was a 1950 graduate of Quincy Senior High. She was a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church.

A devout Catholic, she participated in church events, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and St. Francis, where she was a regular volunteer for the funeral luncheons. She helped for many years with the Catholic Charities Food Bank.

Elizabeth was always a part of her children’s activities, and her grandchildren’s as well. She and Pete greatly enjoyed the outdoors and camping together and loved all the time spent with the children, and grandchildren and she loved her dogs.

Survivors include her FOUR CHILDREN: David Harman and his wife Kathy of Quincy, Mary Wilding and her husband Paul of Lee’s Summit, MO, Bob Harman and his wife Katy of Fowler, and Rev. Peter Harman, Rector of the Pontifical North American College in Rome, Italy.

THREE GRANDCHILDREN: Kelly Kelsey and her husband Matt, Sara Fischer and her husband Joe; and Alex Wilding. FOUR GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Benjamin and William Kelsey; Hazel; and Jack Fischer.
Numerous, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Pete, and a son Joseph Harman in infancy.

Funeral services will be on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. in Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church with Rev. Peter Harman, Celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. Messages may be shared online at www.dukerandhaugh.com.
