Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Brinkman

Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Brinkman age 88, formerly of Bradford Villa, Quincy,
died on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 2:24 p.m. in Good Samaritan Home.
Betty was born January 4, 1929, the daughter of Ed and Edith(Kamphaus) Obert. She married James B. “Jim” Brinkman on June 7, 1949.
He preceded her in death on June 26, 2016.

Mrs. Brinkman was a homemaker and she worked at Motorola and Jack’s in Quincy.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Ladies Auxiliary. Betty was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.

Betty enjoyed camping for 45 years, spending the last ten years camping at Whispering Oaks Campground where she and Jim made a lot of friends bowling and playing cards. Betty also helped Jim with making crafts by doing the painting that was needed. She made quilts for her family, and enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren.

She is survived by four children,
Shari Arment and her husband Ralph of Bartonville, TX, Karen Venvertloh and her husband Joe of Quincy, Keith Brinkman and his wife Sharon of Quincy and Jim Brinkman and his wife Karen of Fowler, IL; a son-in-law Leo Runser;
thirteen grandchildren, Travis (Teresa) Arment, Heather Arment, Holly (Jay) Kriegesmann, Dana (Dave) Ludwig; Justin (Katie) Venvertloh; Jason (Amber) Venvertloh, KJ Brinkman, Kelly (Jason) Stark, John (Jamie) Runser, Megan (Michael) Leapley, Meredith Brinkman, Shane Brinkman and Emma Brinkman.
15 Great-Grandchildren;
Brothers and sisters, Anna Mae (Bob) Liggett; Mary Louise (Kenny) Wellman; Leroy (Delores) Obert.
Many nieces, nephews and great and great-great nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Sandra “Sandy” Runser; a grandson, Scott Arment; sisters, Irene Schreacke; Carlene Peters; Edith “Dolly” Schreacke; and Rita Obert in infancy. Brothers, Kenny Obert; Wilford Obert; Virgil Obert and Edward Obert and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church by Rev. Jeff Stone.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh.
Memorials are suggested to Down Country or to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
