Elizabeth A. Sorrill

Elizabeth A. Sorrill, age 84, of Quincy, died on Monday, July 9, 2018 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on November 15, 1933 in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Albert & Genevieve (Ohnemus) Kuhn. She married Dean B. Sorrill on July 31, 1954 in St. Francis Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on October 15, 2005.

Elizabeth was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. She was a member of the K. of C. Ladies Auxiliary. She also was a volunteer for the Ladies of Charity and at St. Vincent Home. She had been a caretaker for several people over the years. She had also worked at John Wood Community College for some years.

She is survived by:
FOUR CHILDREN: Katherine (Jeffrey) Liesen, Judith (Michael) Deters, and Jeffrey (Marcia) Sorrill all of Quincy and Mark (Cathie Whelan) Sorrill of Hannibal, MO.
THIRTEEN GRANDCHILDREN: Craig (Kristen) Liesen, Chad (Lisa) Liesen; Kristin Liesen; Nathaniel Sorrill, Sara Sorrill, Nicholas Sorrill, Skyler Sorrill, Jason (Mindy) Deters, Alicia (James) Duncan, Melissa Sorrill, Michelle (Blake) Mock, Megan Sorrill, and Jessica Sorrill,
TEN GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Chloe, Courtney, Mackenzie, Aubrey, Madison, Payton, Reagan, Landon, Wyatt, and Jackson.
SIBLINGS: Ruth (Leo) Zanger, Martha (Ernest) Tuley, Eugene Kuhn, and Rachel (Bob) Askins.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons: Bryan “Ursal” Sorrill, and Kenneth Sorrill and siblings: Albert Kuhn, Rosemary Zanger and Tom Kuhn.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 10:30 AM in St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the K. of C. TV Mass for Shut-Ins or the St. Anthony ‘We Care’ Society.
