Eleanor Duesterhaus

Eleanor Duesterhaus, age 96, of the St. Vincent Home, formerly of 1112 Madison St., died on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 1:00 AM in the home. She was born on May 16, 1912 in Quincy, a daughter of Matthew & Caroline (Nuessen) Duesterhaus. Eleanor was employed at the Illinois Veterans Home in the diet kitchen until her retirement. Eleanor graduated from St. Mary Grade School. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish.

Survivors include:
TWO BROTHERS: Virgil Duesterhaus and his wife Evelyn and Alfred Duesterhaus and his wife Evelyn.
ELEVEN NIECES & NEPHEWS: Joan Price and her husband Henry; Roger Duesterhaus and his friend Linda; Marvin Duesterhaus and his wife Lorna; Pat Wilson and her husband Jim; Jerry Grawe and his wife Charlene; Lois Peters and her husband Richard; Ron Grawe; Tom Duesterhaus and his wife Shiela; Jim Duesterhaus and his wife Carla; Sherri Thompson and her husband Kent; John Duesterhaus and his wife Yvonne.

In addition to her parents, Eleanor is also preceded in death by: 2 brothers: Clarence Duesterhaus and Herbert Duesterhaus in infancy; and three sisters: Bertha Edmonds, Leona Grawe, and Irene Duesterhaus in infancy.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 10:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:30 in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment in St. Boniface Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 9:00 Am until 10:00 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Parish or School, the St. Vincent Home, or to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
