Elaine Lorna Naderhoff

Elaine Lorna Naderhoff age 95, of Quincy died on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 10:42 a.m. in Good Samaritan Home. Elaine was born in Quincy on June 7, 1923 a daughter of William Henry and Ada (Augustian) Howser. She married Lloyd Lantz on September 5, 1942 in Quincy, they divorced April 12, 1961. Lloyd died June 25, 1991. Elaine later married Gerald L. Naderhoff on July 3, 1965 in Quincy, he died on July 27, 1986.

Elaine was a homemaker, and prior to that she had worked at Quincy Hosiery Mill and Quincy Speaker.

She was a member of Union United Methodist Church.

Elaine loved the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Camping at Cedar Lake campgrounds on the weekends with her children and her other beloved camping family members was a favorite pastime. She participated in bowling and roller skating; other hobbies included doing crossword puzzles, watching the Wheel of Fortune, crocheting doilies, personalizing items with names and making table cloths.

At the age of 70, she began fulfilling her dream of skydiving. During the years when the Free-Fall Sky Diving Convention was held in Quincy she didn’t tandem skydive only once, but seven times.

Survivors include her children: Roger (Martha) Lantz; Terry (Carolyn) Lantz; and Marsha (Wes) Courtney all of Quincy.

Seven Grandchildren: Roger (Shelley) Lantz, Jr.; Debby Rhineberger; Dena (Carla) Lantz; Dawn (Steve) Masterson; Teresa (Keith) Jansen; Amy (Rick) McGlaughlin; and Wesley (Jocelyn) Courtney.

Eleven Great-Grandchildren: Madison (Eric) Hayes; Kayna, Nicholas and Nathan Lantz; Stephanie and Tyler Turnbaugh; Cody and Riley Masterson; Courtney and Cole McGlaughlin; and Evan Courtney.

Two Great-Great-Grandchildren: Baylee Gravitt and Laynee Dunford;
Two brothers: Jack (Bernice) Howser and Frank Howser; many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, two brothers, Lee (Bev) Howser and Earl (Verna) Howser; two sisters, Elnora (Kenneth) Zeigler and Alberta (Bill) Weid; and a sister-in-law, Betty Howser.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Chaplain James Riley. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh.
