Elaine Catherine Will
Elaine Catherine Will age 93 of Payson died on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 8:15 p.m. in Bickford Cottage, Quincy, surrounded by her family. She was born in Quincy on August 24, 1925 a daughter of Charles and Anna (Terstriep) Cannady. She married John J. Will on July 23, 1949 in St. John Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2009.
Elaine worked as a Bookkeeper for the former McLaughlin Auto Supply, and then at Cheryl Loatsch Fitness Center until her retirement in the fall of 2008 at the age of 84. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1943.
She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Society and was a devoted Eucharistic Minister.
Elaine loved family gatherings, and these were meant for the entire family to attend. From wienie roasts to birthday parties and holiday get-togethers, these times with her family were the best. She was an avid gardener, and even after working long hours, would come home and spend an evening canning her beans and pickles.
Survivors include her three children:
Mike (Becky) Will of Payson, Debbie (Roger) Nieders of Payson, Tom (Carolyn) Will of Quincy, and Daughter-In-Law Judy Will of Payson.
Ten Grandchildren: Natalie and Kyle Will, Jennifer (Jason) Grindstaff, Joe (Renee) Nieders, Rick (Melissa) Nieders, Kaylee, Austin, Christopher, Dallas, and Emori Will.
Four Step-Grandchildren: Shawn (Brittany) Armer, Devin O’Mara, Meghan (David) Wirtner and Brooke O’Mara. Three Great Grand-Children: Herschel Grindstaff, Jacob and Aubrey Nieders; Seven Great Step-Great Grandchildren: Colin Sebring, Lorali Imel, Bentley, Cole, and Ronin Armer, twins Ophelia and Katerina Tash, and her beloved, sweet cat, Daisy Mae.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son Mark Will.
The family gratefully thanks the Bickford family for the loving care that their mom received during the last months of her life.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church by the Rev. Tom Donovan. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 at St. Anthony Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Anthony Catholic Church or to Bickford of Quincy Mary B’s.
