Edward M. “Ed” Reckers, age 76, of Quincy, IL died on Thursday, September 15, 2022 in the Emergency Room of Blessing Hospital. He was born on September 23, 1945 in Quincy, the son of Melvin and Alma (VandenBoom) Reckers. He married Joyce Schulten on October 3, 1964. She survives. Mr. Reckers worked for the Electric Wheel for many years and then later as a truck driver for Connor Co. He was of the Catholic Faith.

Ed enjoyed his friends and family and spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities. He was also an avid bowler and CUBS fan.

In addition to his wife Joyce, he is also survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: Scott Reckers (Amy) of Vernon Hills, IL: Jim Reckers (Shari) of Quincy and Steven Reckers (Dawn) also of Quincy.
SEVEN GRANDCHILDREN: Nathan Reckers, Johnny Reckers, Jackson Reckers (Kailey), Jedidiah Reckers, Keegan Reckers, Payton Reckers and Addison Reckers.
SIBLINGS: Don Reckers (Carolyn), Sharon Brandon (Bill); Bobby Reckers (Mary), Joan Silman, Tom Reckers (Pam), Jerry Reckers (Julia) and Mary Welte (Jim).
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, a son Richard in infancy and a sister Ruth Leckbee.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 12:00 noon in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
