Edith M. “Dolly” Schreacke
Edith M. “Dolly” Schreacke age 90, formerly of 9536 State Street Quincy, died on Saturday, February 27, 2016 in Sunset Home. She was born April 15, 1925 in Quincy, IL a daughter of Edward and Edith (Kamphaus) Obert. She married Lawrence B. Schreacke on June 11, 1946 in St. Francis Catholic Church, Quincy. Lawrence preceded Dolly in death on May 20, 2008.
Dolly was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, and a member of the Altar Society. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Dolly’s family extends their appreciation to the wonderful staff at Sunset Home for their care and kindness.
Survivors include:
One son, Marvin (Anne) Schreacke, of Quincy, Illinois. Three daughters, Donna (George) Kimbrell of Quincy, Illinois; Pam (James) Hogge of Chatham, Illinois; Beth (Ron) Maple of Payson, Illinois. Daughter-in-law, Susan Schreacke of Quincy, Illinois.
Grandchildren: George (Jen) Kimbrell; Michael Kimbrell and Sharon Wegs; Jim(Suzanne) Hogge; Jamie (Roger) Davis; Liz Hogge and Neil Skillman; Lynn Hogge; Jennifer (Shawn) Dickerman; Laura Schreacke; Matt Schreacke, Christina (Zach) Robb ; Brian (Linda) Schreacke; Shawn (Kelly) Schreacke; Melissa (Rex) Anderson; Gretchen Maple; Ronnie Maple and
31 Great-Grandchildren survive.
3 Brothers: Wilfred Obert, Edward (Norma) Obert and LeRoy (Delores) Obert; 3 Sisters, Betty (Jim) Brinkman, Mary Louise (Kenny) Wellman, and Anna Mae (Bob) Liggett;
3 Sisters-in-law, Eleanor Willer, Sis Obert and Norma Jean Obert; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one son, Dale Schreacke; one grandson, Scottie Schreacke; brothers Virgil Obert and Kenny Obert; sisters Irene (Paul) Schreacke, Rita Obert and Carlene (Charlie) Peters; and Sister-in-law Florence Obert.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church by Monsignor Mike Kuse. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Church.
