Easton Scott Zanger

Easton Scott “Super E” Zanger, 2 ½ year old son of Jeff & Shannon (Linderer) Zanger, gave up his battle with the mitochondrial disorder POL-G (Alpers-Huttenlocher Syndrome) on Saturday, December 8, 2012 in Barnes St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Now he is with the angels in heaven. His short life will leave a legacy of inspiration, not sadness, for all who knew him.
He was born on May 25, 2010 in Quincy.

Easton was known for his dark curly hair and his brilliant blue eyes and his personality charmed nurses and doctors at Blessing Hospital, the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and St. Louis Children’s Hospital. He inspired the local communities of Quincy, Payson, Liberty, to unite with legions of Facebook followers and prayer warriors to support this little boy. He inspired parents throughout the area and Facebook world to hug their children a little tighter and to cherish every moment with them. He inspired people of different faiths, communities, and nationalities to display incredible acts of love, charity and generosity for his family that they will never forget. He inspired his family to recognize that they are incredibly blessed while they are experiencing a nightmare. His eternal gift is that he taught all of us to love and live life like every moment is our last.

In addition to his parents, Jeff & Shannon, Easton is also survived by:
THREE SIBLINGS: Logan, Addison and Morgan Zanger.
PATERNAL GRANDPARENTS: Larry & Donna Zanger
MATERNAL GRANDPARENTS: Jay & Cindy Linderer
PATERNAL GREAT-GRANDMOTHER: Elizabeth Zanger
MATERNAL GREAT-GRANDMOTHER: Norma LaRose
AUNTS & UNCLES: Callie Page and her husband Brad, Jacob Linderer, Eric Zanger and his wife Kathy; Michelle Adams and her husband John; Jay Zanger and his girlfriend Clare Blase, Angie Geiselman and her husband John.
A host of cousins and other relatives also survive.

A Celebration of Easton’s life and of the goodness of those who surrounded and supported him will be held at the Ambiance on Sunday, December 16, 2012. The celebration will take place at the Ambiance between the hours of 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Please feel free to stop by and join in our celebration. A private family service will take place in the days prior to the celebration. Please do not feel it necessary but in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Easton Zanger Benefit. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
