Earl William Junior Cook

Earl William Junior Cook, age 76, past away surrounded by his wife and family in his home at 2125 Rancho Blvd, on October 16, 2009. Earl was born in New Salem, IL on April 17, 1933, the son of Earl M. & Bessie L. (Allen) Cook. Earl married Mary Murry on March 14, 1951. She survives. Earl worked at the International Shoe Factory for 14 years and Speedrack for 25 years. Earl served in the United States Air Force and was a veterans of the Korean War.

Earl loved to hunt and fish with his sons and daughter. Earl enjoyed going to St. Louis Cardinal games in St. Louis and watching Chicago Cubs games at home with his family. In his later years, Earl enjoyed visits with his great-grandchildren. Earl will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Earl and his wife Mary were blessed with THREE CHILDREN: Catherine Mary Jones of Reddington Shores, FL, Philip William Cook and his wife Lisa of Quincy and Timothy J. Cook of Phoenix, AZ.
TEN GRANDCHILDREN: Michael William Jones and his wife Kim, Dustin Dwayne Jones, Ronald Eugene Jones, Miki Rozina Marie Jones, Jason William Cook and his wife Heather; Melissa Lynn Austin and her husband Mike; Charles M. Jones and his wife Amanda; Shelby and Kayla Holt.
Earl was also survived by 12 Great-grandchildren.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father Frank Waters, two brothers: Charles W. Cook and James Russell Cook and one grandchild Rustin James Jones.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Wanda Seydel. Interment in Quincy Memorial Park with military rites conducted at the cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.

    Sweet Mary, I am so sorry I am too far away to comfort you in person as you have me in the past!I will always remember the old days when everyone enjoyed just being together fishing! Also how you and Marie could dance up a storm! Try and remember those times as I will! Love to you and yours in your sorrow. SHE
