Doyne Marie (Proudfit) Liverett

Doyne Marie (Proudfit) Liverett, age 60, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 in her home. She was born on October 19, 1960 in Pueblo, CO, the daughter of Robert and Patricia (Gable) Proudfit. Doyne received an associate degree from John Wood Community College in criminal justice in 2006 and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Quincy University in 2008.

Doyne had worked as a secretary at Blessing Hospital in the Billing Department. She also was employed by Transitions as a mental health counselor, Quanada as a sexual assault counselor and a Victim Witness Program Volunteer for the States Attorney office until her retirement in 2014. She was of the Christian faith.

She was passionate about helping others, (many bonus kids called her “Mom”) Doyne was creative and talented with a love of music and singing, writing and painting. Her grandchildren and her cat “Queenie” brought her great joy.

She is survived by her children: Jason (Christina) Swango of TN, Jennifer (Jeremy) Smith of Quincy, her stepdaughters: Amanda (Dennis) Colclasure of Hannibal, and Candice (Dee McBride) Liverett of Payson; grandchildren: James Swango, Dylan Calhoun, Dylanie Swango, Lucas Perkins; step grandchildren: Braiden Colclasure, Logan Liverett, Daniel McBride, Lachlan McBride and Miles McBride; siblings: Theresa (Paul) Creighton of FL and Michael Proudfit of Quincy; nieces and nephews: Carla Swango, Lisa Rust, Jennifer Creighton and Michael Creighton.

Doyne was preceded in death by her parents, maternal grandparents, Paul and Cathrin Harshman, paternal grandparents, Jennave and James Proudfit and a niece, Donna (Swango) Hendrian.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home.     She was my friend. What a beautiful person. She used her talents and gifts. She could sing. Now she is singing in heaven. Beautiful Soul the Earth was lucky to have. I used to live back in the area. So sorry for your loss. ❤️

    I’m so sorry for your loss. I only knew Doyne through Facebook because of our unusual name that we had in common.
