Dorothy E. Wand, age 81, of 2130 Harrison died on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 12:00 Noon at Good Samaritan Home. She was born on January 28, 1927 in Quincy, Illinois. She was a daughter of Lewis H. & Marcella (Dopheide) Spilker. She married Lawrence Wand on November 8, 1947 in the Immaculate Conception Church in Hannibal, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 2, 2005.

Dorothy was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

She was a graduate of Quincy High School. She was a homemaker.

HER CHILDREN: Carol Sturhahn & her husband Steve of Quincy, Susan Fuhr and her husband George of Moline, Illinois, Jane Mullendore and her husband Dr. Richard of Athens, Georgia, & David Wand and his wife Theresa of Omaha, Nebraska;
ONE SISTER: Joan Boden and her husband Clarence of Quincy;
GRANDCHILDREN: Ryan Wand of Omaha, Nebraska, Rachel Doering of Grain Valley, Missouri, Rebecca Wand of Independence, Missouri, Amy Fatek of Belleville, Illinois, Cassandra Fuhr of Yulee, Florida, Jenna Mullendore of Athens, Georgia, Karin Mullendore of Athens, Georgia, Christopher Sturhahn of New York City, Julie Barry of Quincy, Jeffrey Sturhahn of Quincy, Sarah Stegeman of Quincy.
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Maxwell and Maleea Wand of Omaha, Nebraska, Jonah Doering of Grain Valley, Missouri, & David Barry of Quincy.
Many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother Lewis (Mickey) Spilker, Jr., & a sister, Alberta Berry.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 11, 2008 at 8:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a funeral mass at 9:00 a.m. in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. The Rev. Kurt Hartrich, O.F.M. to officiate. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with a prayer service at 5:45 p.m.. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Catholic Church.
