Dorothy Schulze

Dorothy Schulze, age 92 of St. Vincent’s Home, formerly of 301 North 8th St. and 1230 Sycamore St. Quincy died on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at 4:50 p.m. in St. Vincent’s Home. Dorothy was born March 24, 1916 in Quincy a daughter of Alvin and Clara (Koch) Dunker. Dorothy married Ernest “Pat” Schulze on Sept. 28, 1940 in Quincy and he preceded her in death on May 30, 1996.

Dorothy was a homemaker, who had worked at International Shoe Company and the Maid Rite.
She was a member of All Saints Parish.

Dorothy was also a member of the Royal Neighbors. Her favorite pastimes were going to card parties and playing BINGO.

Survivors include a daughter, Patti Durk and her husband Jim of Quincy;
Six grandchildren, Dawn Barron (James) of Allen Park, MI; Jill Havermale (Dan) and Hope Lenane all of Quincy; Scott Schulze of Quincy; Shawn (Shara) Schulze of Wildwood, MO and Sara Schulze and her companion, Glen Vaughn of Quincy;
Great Grandchildren, Alexis Howe, Ayden Barron, Spencer and Ashley Havermale, Payton and Shelby Schulze; Sydney Schulze and Faith Vaughn.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Steven Schulze, two brothers, Leroy and Richard Dunker and a sister, Norma Crocker.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Calvary Cemetery with Rev. Michael Kuse officiating. There is no visitation, but family and friends are invited to the graveside services. Memorials to St. Vincent’s Home Activities Fund would be appreciated.
