Dorothy M. Schoch

Dorothy M. Schoch, age 93, of 1330 Catherine Ct, formerly of 2524 Cedar, died on Thursday, June 13, 2013 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on October 22, 1919 in Quincy, IL the daughter of John Joseph & Addie (Wielage) Kerberick. She married Alvin C. Schoch on October 22, 1938 in St. Mary’s Parsonage in Keokuk, IA. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2009.

During her career, Dorothy worked at Moorman Manufacturing, the former St. Mary Hopsital and Fannie Mae Candies.

She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, the Ladies of St. Francis, and the Tuesday Club at the church. She was also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary.

Dorothy loved nature and flowers, playing cards and dancing. She especially loved all the time spent with the family. Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. Dorothy gave so much, asked for so little and rarely complained.

She is survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: Jim Schoch of Quincy; Michael Schoch of Punta Gorda, FL and Barbara Hart and her husband Gene of Metamora, IL.
THREE GRANDCHILDREN: Jimmie Schoch and his wife Tammy of Quincy; Matthew Hart and his wife Andrea of Washington, IL; and Nathan Hart and his wife Kelly of Lake St. Louis, MO.
SEVEN GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Ethan and Lauren Hart; Lydia, Sami, Abigail, Noel, and Isabella Hart.
TWO STEP-GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Brianna and Kelsey
ONE STEP-GREAT-GREAT GRANDCHILD: Liam.
Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband Alvin, Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter: Cindy Schoch, and two brothers: Louis and Herman Kerberick.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 9:30 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:00 in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church.
