Dorothy M. Richie, age 71, of 1322 North 9th Street, Quincy, died on Sunday, April 24, 2011 in her home. She was born on January 21, 1940 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois, a daughter of James & Ethel (Lovin) Seckman. She married Jackie Ray Richie on September 19, 1960 in Quincy. Jackie Ray preceded her in death on June 29, 2003.

Dorothy was a Certified Nursing Assistant. She worked for the Adams County Home Health. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church. Dorothy was a Girl Scout & a Boy Scout Leader. She enjoyed gardening & spending time with her family.

She is survived by:
THREE SONS: Brian Richie of Quincy, Bud Richie and his wife Caren of Fowler, Robert Richie and his significant other Cindy Perry of Quincy.
TWO DAUGHTERS: Jacky Yonker of Quincy, and Amy Sheurman and her husband Joe of Liberty.
EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN: Jayson, Jeremy, Justin, Jordan, Darren, Desiree Forrest and her husband Cory, Nicolle Tournear & her husband Billy, Cheyanne Rankin & her husband Gary, Jr.

ONE BROTHER-IN-LAW: Jerry Richie of Quincy
A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband Jackie Ray, Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one niece.

A Memorial Graveside service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011 in Calvary Cemetery at 1:00 P.M. There is no visitation but friends and family are invited to the graveside services. Memorials are suggested to Lakota Indian School or to Blessing Foundation for Hospice. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
