Dorothy M. Lierly, age 67, of Sycamore Healthcare Centre, formerly of 2222 Lind Street, Quincy, died on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 6:55 p.m. in the Home. She was born on February 7, 1943 in Quincy, Illinois, a daughter of Carl B. & Marie F. (Koetters) Lohman.

Dorothy was a Nursing Assistant at the Illinois Veterans Home for 19 years before her retirement.

She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Dorothy enjoyed her pets, fishing, and playing cards.

Survivors include:
ONE BROTHER: William “Bill” Lohman and his wife Jean of Quincy;
ONE SISTER: Mary Ann Dittmer of Quincy;
ONE SON: Daniel K. Lierly; ONE GRANDSON: Richard Lierly;

NIECES & NEPHEWS: Sharon Frame and her husband Louie, Linda Amburn and her husband Terry, all of Quincy; Amy Weidner and her husband Grant of Waterloo, IA, Cynthia Dittmer of Davenport, IA, David Dittmer and his wife Lynn; Christina Weckback and her husband Robert and Andrew Dittmer and his wife Lynn all of Quincy;
Great nieces & nephews also survive.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Frank Lohman.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and 11:00 a.m. in St. Francis Catholic Church by Father James Wheeler. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Catholic Church.
