Dorothy M. Derhake
Dorothy M. Derhake of Sunset Home, Quincy died on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at 12:05 a.m. in the home. Dorothy was born September 29, 1925 in Quincy, a daughter of Clyde and Elsie (Moore) Phillips. She married Frank R. Derhake on May 14, 1949, and he preceded her in death on February 18, 2008.
Dorothy was a homemaker. She attended Central Baptist Church. Dorothy and her husband Frank were both longtime members of the Eagles Club. She loved playing BINGO and going camping. Dorothy liked visiting with people and she never met a stranger.
Survivors include her children, Mark S. Derhake and Theresa M. Beswick and her husband Steve all of Quincy. Grandchildren, Christopher Derhake and his wife Heather; Stephanie DeWeese and her husband Charles; Matthew Beswick and his wife Kim; Lyndie Beswick and Great Grandchildren, Heaven and Briar, Alexiss, BreAnne, Adam, Skyler, Miranda and Wyatt all of Quincy; a brother, Kenny Phillips and two sisters, Darlene Reddick and Betty Fortner all of Quincy. Many, many nieces and nephews also survive.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. Ivan Greuter. Interment will be in Sunset Cemetery. Visitation will be at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to the Sunset Home Activities Fund.
Thank you for all the kind words for my grandma. She is already missed by her family. But we all know she is in a better place. She is home with grandpa. Again thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers.
Dorothy was such a wonderful kind person to the most needy like me.

I have many great memories as a child with the large family get- togethers and many fun times with all my moms sisters and brothers. Dorothy always had a smile and so sweet. She will be missed <3 Thinking of all her family at this difficult time.

I will truly miss seeing Dorothy’s wonderful smile everyday here at work. She wasn’t just a resident here at Sunset home, She was family. You all are family. I know I can speak for the rest of us here in activities that she will truly be missed so much. I’ll miss that beautiful smile the most of all and those warm hugs she always shared. The memory will of Dorothy will live on through all of our hearts and memories. We all have the most beautiful and kind hearted angel watching over us now. Love you guys. Brittni Cobb.
I have many good memories of Aunt Dorothy especially at Christmas time. My family always came over on Christmas day. My sincere condolences Mark and Theresa and family.
